Our board of Directors consist of a diverse group of veteran professionals in various disciplines ranging from oil and gas, banking, finance and business entrepreneurs

  • Abdulrazaq Isa, Chairman

Abdulrazaq Isa is a co-founder of Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited. He is an entrepreneur and former banker with extensive local and international experience in both private and public sectors. For over 15 years, Abdulrazaq was a banker with African International Bank Nigeria Ltd., Chartered Bank Nigeria Plc. (now Stanbic IBTC) and co-founded Safetrust Savings and Loans Limited (now a subsidiary of Sterling Bank Plc.). In the course of his professional career, he was involved in the structuring and financing of several multi-million dollar transactions in the upstream and oil service segments of the oil and gas industry.

 

He also has diverse industry experience as Chairman/CEO of Walter Smith & Associate Ltd, an investment company with international and local strategic interests in Oil and Gas, Telecommunication, Manufacturing and Finance. Abdulrazaq also serves as Vice Chairman of PINL Marine and Oil Services Ltd, Chairman of Leeisa Inc. and Katchey Company Limited respectively. In the public sector, he has also served on the boards of the National Inland Waterways Authority and Nigerian Cocoa Research Institute Ibadan. He is a member of several professional bodies including the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Energy Institute (IE) and the Institute of Directors (IOD). Abdulrazaq is involved in philanthropic activities aimed at supporting the improvement of science education in Nigeria.

 

  • Danjuma Saleh, Executive Vice Chairman

Danjuma Saleh is a co-founder of Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited. An exceptional entrepreneur and former banker with extensive banking experience having worked for NIB/Citigroup and Universal Trust Bank Ltd, Danjuma was co-founder, pioneer Managing Director and later Chairman of the board of directors of Safetrust Savings & Loans Ltd (now a subsidiary of Sterling Bank Plc.). In the course of his professional career, he was responsible for the structuring and financing of several multi-million dollar transactions in the upstream and oil service segments of the oil and gas industry. He is the Vice Chairman/COO of Waltersmith & Associate Ltd, an investment company with local and international interest in Oil & Gas, Telecommunication, Manufacturing and Finance..

He serves on the board of various companies amongst which are Sirius Wireless Ltd, Graham Grant & Company Ltd, Safetrust Savings & Loans Ltd and PINL Marine & Oil Services Ltd. Danjuma was appointed and served as a member of the Benue State Government Committee on the reactivation of Government owned companies. He is a member of several professional bodies including the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Energy Institute (EI) and the Institute of Directors (IOD).

 

  • Emmanuel O. Egbogah, Ph.D, P.Eng., OON - Director

Dr. Emmanuel Egbogah who is currently the Special Adviser to the Nigerian President on petroleum matters has over 30 years of diversified oil industry management and technical experience in Canada, United States, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific Regions. He has served in various capacities as Vice President, International Production for Niko Resources Limited, an international E&P company in Calgary, Canada; Technology Advisor and Technology Custodian for Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (the E&P subsidiary of Petronas), the Malaysia National Oil Company, as well as the Executive Vice President, VRMT International Inc., an oil and gas consulting company in Houston, Texas.

 

He is an internationally recognized authority in field development, planning and oil field reservoir management. Dr. Egbogah is a Distinguished Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and has received numerous international awards in North America, the Asia Pacific Region and Nigeria for his technological and service contributions to the society and worldwide petroleum industry.

 

  • Dr. Jude O. Amaefule - Director

Dr. Amaefule is currently the Chairman/CEO of Emerald Energy Resources Limited operators of OPL 229 in Nigeria. Dr. Amaefule has over 30 years of practical oil industry experience in management, technology development and consulting. He consults globally for major oil companies (Shell, Mobil, Chevron, Repsol/YPF, PDVSA) on improving oil and gas production rates and optimizing field development and reservoir management.

 

Dr. Amaefule had worked for Occidental Petroleum and BP as a Senior Petroleum Engineer in charge of field-wide well productivity improvement in California and Prudhoe Bay Field, Alaska. He has also worked in the service sector, as a Senior Vice President in charge of Business Development/Marketing and Research & Technology Development and Instrument Development, for Core Laboratories, a division of Western Atlas International in Houston, Texas. Dr. Amaefule is the President/CEO of VRMT International Inc., a leading-edge technology-based Petroleum Engineering Consultancy company, headquartered in Houston, Texas that specializes in optimizing Oil and Gas Reservoir Management. VRMT also provides engineering support to Emerald Energy Resources Limited the operators of OPL 229.

 

 

  • Dr. Andrew C. Uzoigwe - Director

Dr. Andrew C. Uzoigwe - Director Dr. Uzoigwe retired from Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in June 2002 as Group Executive Director (Exploration and Production) where he served as member of NNPC Top Management Committee (TMC) and a member of NNPC Board of Directors. He was responsible for all activities in Nigerian upstream Oil and Gas Industry.

During his tenure at NNPC, Dr Uzoigwe held several senior technical and management positions which included:

  • Managing Director, Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company
  • Managing Director, Eleme Petrochemical Company Ltd

Dr. Uzoigwe has travelled extensively all over the world on numerous professional assignments on behalf of NNPC and/or the Federal Government of Nigeria.

 

  • Princess (Senator) Florence Ita-Giwa, OON – Director

Senator Ita Giwa Senator Ita Giwa was a special adviser to two Nigerian Presidents on National Assembly Matters. A consummate politician and legislator, she previously served in both the Senate and House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Senator Ita Giwa was also a member of the Constitutional Conference, and a member Steering Committee of Commonwealth Women Parliamentarian.

 

As a Professional Healthcare Practitioner, she represented Beecham and Sandoz Pharmaceuticals in Nigeria in the private sector. Sen. Ita Giwa serves on the boards of several companies and she is actively involved with the resettlement and rehabilitation of the displaced people of Bakassi Peninsula recently ceded to the Republic of Cameroun.

 

 

  • Mrs. Cecilia Aqua-Umoren - Director

Mrs. Aqua-Umoren has over 20 years’ experience as a corporate lawyer and adviser on company setups and management. She specializes in human resources and labour conflict resolution. She is currently the Executive Director of Emerald Energy Resources Limited the operators of OPL 229.
