Waltersmith Refining & Petrochemical Company Limited (WRPC) is a forward-looking energy company committed to optimizing Nigeria’s hydrocarbon value chain through modular refining. With our refinery located near the Ibigwe flow station in Imo State, we’re addressing upstream volatility and enabling domestic energy security through local refining and downstream integration.

Expansion Strategy

Through a phased development plan, Waltersmith is expanding refinery capacity to 50,000 bpd—deepening our impact on domestic refining, regional supply, and industrial growth.
Phase 1
- Status: Commissioned
- Capacity: 5,000 bpd
- Purpose: Optimize crude value, supply domestic market
Phase 2
- Type: Stand-alone 25,000 bpd condensate refinery
- Status: Advanced development
- Progress: Feasibility study and FEED completed
- Expected Products: Gasoline, diesel, LPG, kerosene, aviation fuel
- Completion Target: 24 months from groundbreaking (2020–2022+)
Phase 3
- Plan: Additional 20,000 bpd refinery
- Goal: Achieve 50,000 bpd total capacity
- Expanded Slate: PMS, LPG
- Objective: Regional supply, export potential, and job creation
