REPORTS TO: Commercial Manager

JOB PURPOSE: The role is required to provide support to the Commercial, Gas & Power department including supporting the Commercial team with economic evaluations, maintaining, and implementing business planning processes etc.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Provide support in building robust models and templates, in Excel (macros-driven), for determining the economic viability of new opportunities as well as on-going projects across the energy value chain
  2. Establish and maintain meticulous catalogue of past and present economic and financial models
  3. Analyze and proffer opinions on business implementation of recent fiscal changes across the energy value chain (e.g., PIA, Finance Act, etc.)
  4. Carry out economic evaluations, to support on-going projects with a view to ensuring that they meet or exceed the economic screening criteria applied by the company
  5. Assist in conducting look-back /variance/post-investment analyses on all investment decisions in order to dimension project key drivers that impact business costs 
  6. Support in Business Planning and Project Maturation as required
  7. Provide support towards the development of financial and market analysis required to give insight into pricing, cost and profitability and go-to market strategies for new opportunities
  8. Support the procurement function by assisting to develop Request for Quotations (RFQ) and evaluate vendor/contractor proposals (Quotations)
  9. Monitor and provide report/updates on the impact of developments within the Energy market including information, data, and competitor analysis, and provide any other support required by the Gas & Power team
  10. Provide administrative support for the team, research on topical issues/opportunities studies, monitor regulatory and market trends within the Nigerian energy market and provide all other support to the Gas and Power team as required.

REQUISITE QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 0-3 years post-graduate experience in the Oil & Gas Industry (Upstream) economics/commercial roles
  • BSC degree in Engineering/Economics/Earth Sciences or related degrees • Foundational knowledge of the energy value chain (particularly upstream oil & gas operations)
  • Good knowledge of Nigeria fiscal systems
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Project
  • Desirable: Knowledge of VBA or related programming language
